Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SpeakLike (“the Service”), operated by DWB Studio (“we”, “our”, “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SpeakLike is an English language learning platform that helps users improve spoken English through listening, speaking, and sentence-building exercises. Lessons are built around publicly available YouTube videos, which are played inside the Service through YouTube’s official embedded player and credited to their original channel. The Service provides AI-powered scoring on pronunciation, fluency, and accuracy.

3. User Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • One account per person. Sharing accounts is not permitted.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
  • Create automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service
  • Share or redistribute lesson content outside of the Service

5. Content and Intellectual Property

Video content displayed within the Service is streamed via the YouTube IFrame Player API and remains the property of the respective content creators. SpeakLike does not host, download, or redistribute this content.

Exercise text, scoring algorithms, and the app interface are owned by DWB Studio. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written permission.

6. Copyright Complaints and Takedown Requests

We respect the rights of content creators. Lesson videos are never hosted, downloaded, or redistributed by SpeakLike: they are streamed from YouTube through the official YouTube IFrame Player API, and every lesson credits and links to the original video and channel.

If you are a rights holder (or authorised to act for one) and believe that a lesson uses your work in a way you have not authorised, email info@speaklike.app with the subject line “Copyright Notice” and include:

  • the lesson title or link within SpeakLike, and the URL of the original work
  • a description of the work and of the rights you hold in it
  • your contact details and a statement that you hold those rights in good faith

We aim to respond within 5 business days and will unpublish the lesson while we review the notice. Removal on request is our default: we do not require a rights holder to prove their case before we take content down.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

  • SpeakLike offers both free and premium subscription tiers.
  • Premium subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are handled by the respective app store according to their refund policies.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated scores will be perfectly accurate.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DWB Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the app settings. Upon deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Istanbul, Turkey.
